PURPOSE ­ This is the camp for which each aspiring young basketball player has been looking! Great competition, tremendous fundamental instruction, lots of fun and all at the most affordable price for a basketball camp for young players anywhere.

The USA "Jr. Select" Basketball Camp is designed to give the experienced young player an opportunity to play against the best players possible while providing an intense learning environment for improvement in basketball. Each year we try to bring together some of the best players in Western North Carolina. This kind of competitive atmosphere will bring each player's abilities to a higher level while motivating them to work harder. They can see where they stack up with other good players in their own age group. While the camp will be very competitive, there will be no pressure put on anyone to do anything but their best.

WHY THIS TYPE OF CAMP WORKS - Every fundamental drill and every camp game is more meaningful because each player plays and works against someone who is capable of playing at a challenging level for their age group. Fundamental stations are taken a little more serious because each player will try and execute each drill as well as the best player does.

In most camps the games are played with at least half of each team playing with players who are not yet skilled enough to keep up with those who are. Thus, the better players dominate the games and do not improve at the rate they should. The games in the"JR Select" Camp are not only more competitive, but also much more fun!

COST: $70 A $15.00 deposit is required to hold a spot in the camp. Enrollment is limited so an early response is important.

BE PART OF THE FUN

· Individual instruction with major emphasis on shooting, ball handling, defense and rebounding.

· Slam dunk competition for boys and girls of all ages.

· Equal instruction and playing time for all.

· Saturation basketball, no wasted instruction or playing time; maximum participation + more playing time = more fun.

· 5 on 5 games, 3 on 3 competition and individual competition.

· FREE T-shirt, insurance and certificate

· A concession stand will be available at breaks and after each session. Drinks, candy, T-shirts, shorts and training aids will be available to purchase.

AWARDS - Every camper will receive a certificate of participation and awards will be given in the following categories:

1) League team champions
2) Free throw champion
3) Competitive shooting champions
4) Slam dunk champion

WHAT TO BRING

Each camper should arrive dressed and ready to participate in proper attire. A concession stand will be available for campers to purchase drinks and snacks.

INSURANCE

The camp will provide insurance for each camper. This coverage is an excess policy and covers what each camper's family health policy doesn't.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

Jr. Select Camp
Experienced players, boys and girls, 11-14 years of age

Developmental Camp
Any boy or girl, 7-10 years of age

PREPARATION FOR THE FUTURE

Many of the campers, both boys and girls that have attended the USA "Jr. Select" Basketball Camp have gone on to play or are now playing for varsity teams in western North Carolina. Some of these schools are T.C. Roberson, A.C. Reynolds, Erwin, Smoky Mountain, Cherokee, North Buncombe, Brevard, Owen, Enka and East Henderson. The "Jr. Select" Camp really does prepare you for the next level of basketball.
